Ben Davies - genOway
Genoway
genOway GmbH will be involved in WP4 and will be responsible for testing the S/MAR episomal gene transfer vectors in vivo using transgenic technology in the mouse.
Qualifications and experience for the project:
Based in Lyon, France and Hamburg, Germany genOway is a service provider fully dedicated to the development of tailor made transgenic mouse and rat models. With 50 full-time employees and operating in 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia, genOway is the largest company in its field in Europe. 40 experienced biologists (15 PhDs and 25 technicians) are exclusively concentrated on designing models, molecular biology, cell biology and embryology.
Capacity to contribute to the project and links to other partners:
genOway has expert knowledge in the generation of knockout and transgenic animals and will use this knowledge to apply the new generation of episomal vectors to in vivo mouse models. Expertise in cloning and molecular biology, combined with mouse embryonic stem cell culture and an array of embryo manipulation techniques are already established within the company and will greatly aid the proposed research project at many levels.
List of the principal scientific or technical personnel involved:
| Name and degree | Specific role in the project | Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Dr. Ben Davies (MA PhD) | Principle Investigator | Scientific Director at Murinus GmbH. Many years of experience in mouse transgenic technology, both within academic and industrial environments. |
| Dr. Jean Cozzi (MSc, PhD) | Senior Scientist | Many years of experience in stem cell manipulation and embryology. |
| Dr. Sergiy Dariy (BSc, PhD) | Microinjection specialist | Extensive experience in embryo microinjection and handling, gained in part at the Jackson Laboratories, USA . |
